EN AW-2007
EN AW-2007 – FLEXIBILITY

EN AW-2007 is a heat-treatable alloy. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out a heat treatment such as solution annealing followed by natural aging. Only then can the alloy develop its full potential.
This typical free-machining alloy can be processed further at high cutting speeds. This results in the formation of characteristically short chips. This makes the EN-AW-2007 alloy ideal for turned parts such as washers or bolts.
EN AW-2007 applications
Due to EN AW-2007’s outstanding erosion and machining properties, it is primarily used in the manufacture of turned parts, such as washers or bolts.
Application areas
- Turned parts, precision engineering
- Control arms and tie rods
- Gas cylinders and pressurized cylinders
- Pistons and piston rods
- Structural tubes, control rods and hydraulic tubes for fluid transport
- Orthopedics

Turned billets
We currently offer all diameters from 140 – 650 mm. From Q2 2023, we will be able to offer diameters up to 1,100 mm.
Mechanical properties
There is no standard for cast round rods (cast billets/bolts) that defines mechanical properties. A Brinell hardness of approx. 72 HBW in its homogenized state serves as a reference value for the cast material. The homogenized state („O3“ in accordance with EN 515) is comparable to the “soft annealed” state („O“) for extruded products. The final strength is adjusted by our customers‘ forming processes and/or heat treatments.
