EN AW-5083
EN AW-5083 – CORROSION RESISTANT

EN AW-5083 belongs to the group of non-curable (naturally hard) alloys. Therefore, after homogenization, it can either be used directly or reshaped immediately.
Carrying out a heat treatment to increase strength is not possible. Its particular resistance to corrosion makes it ideal for mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, mold making and the chemical industry.

Turned billets
We currently offer all diameters from 140 – 650 mm. From Q2 2023, we will be able to offer diameters up to 1,100 mm.
Mechanical properties
There is no standard for cast round rods (cast billets/bolts) that defines mechanical properties. A Brinell hardness of approx. 70 HBW in its homogenized state serves as a reference value for the cast material. The homogenized state („O3“ in accordance with EN 515) is comparable to the “soft annealed” state („O“) for extruded products. The final strength is adjusted by our customers‘ forming processes and/or heat treatments.
