EGA Leichtmetall is a German speciality aluminium foundry focused on the production of hard alloys and larger diameter billets with high proportions of secondary aluminium.

Our product range includes more than 130 different alloys, tailored to meet the requirements for the most demanding applications. At our Hanover site, we have the capacity to produce up to 35 thousand tonnes of billets annually, with 80 per cent secondary content on average.

We aim to lead in advanced alloy development, larger diameters billets, and engineered compositions to serve customers in aerospace, defence, and special engineering – all industries where performance requirements are exceptionally high.

Our metal is produced using industry-leading precision technologies and processes. This includes the continuous casting process, a technology developed at our Hanover site in the 1920s and still central to our operations today.

With more than 90 years of operations in Hanover, EGA Leichtmetall combines deep technical expertise with a strong innovation legacy. Our long-standing commitment to quality and engineering excellence has made us a trusted partner for customers with exacting standards.

We are committed to a sustainable approach. We rely on secondary aluminium, which requires 95 per cent less energy compared to making new metal globally. At EGA Leichtmetall, we work to reduce our carbon emissions through measures such as the use of 100 per cent renewable electricity procured from renewable electricity suppliers through the grid in our production.

Since 2024, EGA Leichtmetall has been part of Emirates Global Aluminium, the largest ‘premium aluminium‘ producer in the world.
