Thomas Witte has over 40 years of professional experience in the aluminium industry. Mr. Witte began his apprenticeship at Leichtmetall (then VAW Aluminium AG) in 1983, going on to hold management positions in almost all areas of the company before leaving the organisation in 2008 to develop his career as technical manager of an aluminium extrusion plant.

Mr. Witte returned to Leichtmetall as Chief Executive Officer in 2014, and has played a key role in the subsequent development of the company and its acquisition by EGA in 2024.

From 2019 to 2023, Mr. Witte also oversaw the restructuring of an aluminium rolling mill for hard alloys in Venice and an aluminium rolling mill for soft alloys in Rome, which were then owned by the same private equity owner as Leichtmetall.
