EN AW-7010
EN AW-7010 is a hardenable aluminium wrought alloy developed for high-stress applications in aerospace and mechanical engineering.
To unlock its full potential, heat treatment such as solution annealing followed by artificial aging is required. This alloy is non-weldable, alternative joining techniques must be used.
We offer EN AW-7010 turned billets in diameters ranging from 140 mm to 1,080 mm, tailored to meet your specific requirements.
EN AW-7010 applications
EN AW-7010 used for components that must withstand the highest stresses. Typical applications include:
- Aerospace and defence technology: High-stress aircraft components.
- Mechanical engineering: Components that are exposed to very high mechanical stress, as well as structural elements.
- Defence: Used in components that place the highest demands on strength and toughness.
Mechanical properties
The mechanical properties of EN AW-7010 make it suitable for a high-stress applications. Although there is no standard for cast round rods, a Brinell hardness of approximately 85 HBW in the homogenised state serves as a reference value for cast material. This state is comparable in strength to the annealed state ("O") for extruded products. Final strength can be adjusted through reshaping processes or heat treatments performed by our customers.
