EN AW-6026LF

EN AW-6026LF is a hardenable, lead-free aluminium wrought alloy developed for high-speed machining while offering excellent corrosion resistance and good anodising properties.

To unlock its full potential, heat treatment such as solution annealing followed by artificial aging is required. The alloy combines high strength with very good machinability – without the use of lead.

We offer EN AW-6026LF turned billets in diameters ranging from 140 mm to 1,080 mm, tailored to meet your specific needs.

EN AW-6026LF applications

EN AW-6026LF is used across industries where high machining speeds are required. Its primary applications include:

  • Turned parts: Gear wheels, spindles, and other precision-engineered components.
  • Automotive: Control arms, tie rods, pistons, and hydraulic tubes.
  • Defence technology: CNC-machined turned parts, moving parts that require stability.
  • Medical: Components with precise tolerances in diagnostic or laboratory equipment.

Mechanical properties

The mechanical properties of EN AW-6026LF make it suitable for a wide range of applications. Although there is no standard for cast round rods, a Brinell hardness of approximately 56 HBW in the homogenised state serves as a reference value for cast material. This state is comparable in strength to the annealed state ("O") for extruded products. Final strength can be adjusted through reshaping processes or heat treatments performed by our customers.
