EN AW-6082 T6
EN AW-6082 T6 is a versatile medium strength, hardenable aluminium wrought alloy.
A T6 heat treatment has already been carried out at EGA Leichtmetall in accordance with the highest quality standards. The billets are suitable for direct use after mechanical processing. We recommend our standard EN AW-6082 alloy in its “03” condition for forming processes. EN AW 6082 T6 is highly weather-resistant and used in the automotive industry as an electrical conductor, and for heat sinks in the construction sector.
Our T6 billets are machined to the desired diameter and can optionally be subjected to ultrasonic inspection. As standard, we manufacture T6 billets in diameters of 250 mm - 580 mm and in lengths of 1,000 mm, 1,250 mm, 1,500 mm and 2,000 mm. For larger quantities, smaller diameters up to min. 140 mm, larger diameters up to max. 700 mm or other billet lengths are available on request.

EN AW-6082 T6 applications
EN AW-6082 T6 is used where cold-formability, thermal conductivity or machinability are required for further processing. Typical applications include:
- Construction and infrastructure: Scaffolding materials and structural components.
- Automotive and transportation: Rail vehicles (especially load-bearing structures), truck bodies.
- Shipbuilding: Ship and offshore structures.
- Mechanical and electrical engineering: General machinery, heat sinks, electrical conductors.
Mechanical properties
There is no standard defining the mechanical properties of cast round rods. We provide cast and homogenised billets, which undergo a T6 heat treatment (solution annealing, quenching, and artificial aging) in the final stage.
For mechanical properties, we refer to EN 755-2, which specifies the mechanical properties for extruded billets, round rods, and profiles. However, this standard applies only to diameters up to 250 mm. The achievable hardness tends to decrease as the diameter increases. The guaranteed minimum values are listed in the table below.
